When it comes to Elton John, everyone has a story. At least that is the premise of Your Song, The Little Red Company’s smash-hit show that has been on ice for a couple of years.
No longer. The Matilda Award-winning production returns to Brisbane Powerhouse from March 25 to 29 before heading to the Sydney Opera House and touring across Queensland.
Your Song celebrates Elton John’s iconic catalogue, including Rocket Man, Candle in the Wind, I’m Still Standing, Bennie and the Jets, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Crocodile Rock, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, Daniel and the title track, Your Song.
Real-life stories of love, courage and joy that are intrinsically linked with John’s iconic music were shared with Little Red’s Adam Brunes and Naomi Price, who created this heartfelt, hilarious and innately human show. These everyday moments are transformed into powerful theatrical scenes – from a baby brother’s naming to a bride roller-skating down the aisle to Tiny Dancer, to a mother’s divorce anthem – creating musical stories that are pure magic.
The fact that so many people have stories about how John’s music has touched their lives (you can only feature a smattering in a show) is testament to his appeal, according to show director and co-creator Price. We love to see Queensland’s first lady of song up there belting out a tune, but she’s very happy helming the production.
“This is what I’ve been missing when I’m in the show,” Price says. “Now I can sit in the audience drinking champagne.”
Price will soon be out there singing again, touring the hit musical Calamity Jane, just so fans know. She says she’s as much an Elton John fan as anyone – and most people seem to be.
“He’s one of those multi-generational artists,” she says. “Everyone has a story about his music affecting their life in some way. He’s an amazing artist, one of the true trail blazers. You’ll never seen anyone like him. This show is a real love letter to the impact an artist can have on our lives.”

If you saw the show in 2022 and 2023 you will experience some familiar material but also new content. This time around a choir will join the cast for a song, and it will be a different choir in each touring location.
Price saw Elton John live on his victory lap of Australia in 2023 and that has stayed with her and inspired her for this iteration of Your Song.
Joining the cast and making his Little Red debut is Jason Arrow, best known for originating the title role of Alexander Hamilton in Hamilton’s Australian and international productions. His powerhouse vocals and commanding stage presence make him one of the most exciting musical theatre talents today.
Another newbie is John O’Hara, a versatile performer with decades of experience in major musicals including The Rocky Horror Show, School of Rock, Jesus Christ Superstar and Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, known for his charisma, range and unforgettable performances.
Little Red favourites Luke Kennedy and Irena Lysiuk return by popular demand, reuniting onstage for the first time since their star turn in There’s Something About Music at Brisbane Festival in 2023.
Arts Minister John-Paul Langbroek says the State Government is happy to support the electrifying production’s regional shows through the Touring Queensland Fund.
“After the success of Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves tour in 2025, The Little Red Company returns to regional Queensland in 2026 with another award-winning, high-energy production set to the music of global superstar Elton John,” he says. “Beyond bringing multi-talented artists to venues across the state, Little Red continues to inspire with its regional engagement – creating opportunities for local choirs and encouraging community participation in the arts.”
Price says this year’s cast is nothing short of extraordinary.
“Jason, John, Irena and Luke bring star power, world-class vocals and spellbinding authenticity to our award-winning show,” she says. “We are thrilled to bring this incredible show back by popular demand and share it with Sydney audiences for the first time.
“Thanks to the support of the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland we also have the opportunity to continue our long-standing touring relationship with regional Queensland venues and collaborate with local performers to bring this work to life. Audiences love this show because it turns everyday experiences into theatrical magic, combining genuine human stories with Elton’s John’s iconic songbook.”
Jason Arrow says he is thrilled to make his debut with The Little Red Company and work with Price again.
“Naomi and I first worked together in 2017 on Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, bringing another iconic songwriter’s work to life, and now we have the opportunity to explore Elton John’s incredible catalogue together,” he says.
This will be Little Red’s fifth production at Sydney Opera House and their first mainstage production outside of Christmas Actually, following four sold-out seasons. Following Sydney, the production tours Queensland with performances in Redlands, Toowoomba, Maryborough, Gladstone and Proserpine.
On March 28 at 3pm, Your Song will be Auslan interpreted and audio described at Brisbane Powerhouse.
