A Gold Coast student has been rushed to hospital after being impaled by a javelin during a PE class.

An ambulance spokesperson said the pre-teen boy suffered a “significant” groin injury at about 11:00am at Saint Stephen’s College in Coomera.
Fire crews used cutting equipment to remove part of the javelin, but a section remained inside the boy’s body as he was treated by acute care paramedics at the scene.
He has been transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where he is in a stable condition.
