A new assistant director general, Megaport’s new lawyer and Merlo’s customer experience boss are among Queensland executive appointments this week.
Education gets new assistant DG
Chantal Casey has been appointed assistant director general (delivery and operations) with the Queensland Department of Education.
Casey would be responsible for the delivery of educational infrastructure priorities and programs and the ongoing operational asset management.
Casey was previously with the department’s infrastructure services division.
Yeates heads back to IHR
Suzanne Yeates has been appointed as chief financial officer for IntelliHR. She will replace Paul Trappett.
Yeates has been company secretary.
Yeates was IHR’s first CFO and executive chair Matt Donovan said he she would bring depth and breadth of experience to the company.
New chair for aviation
Elsa Dalessio also revealed that she had been appointed a the chair of Aviation Australia.

Megaport picks up a lawyer
Emily McCaffery has been appointed as Megaport’s company secretary.
McCaffery has a degree in law and commerce and is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW.
She takes over from Celia Pheasant who has resigned after eight years in the job.
Merlo gets a Cooke
Merlo Coffee has appointed Leona Cooke as the head of its customer experience.
Cooke has previously worked in similar role with Quality Foods and Beverages and was a state manager for CareerOne.
She also spent three years in Mongolia.
Caddick family lawyer heads to Taylor David
Law firm Taylor David has appointed Charlotte Butcher as a senior associate.
The firm said Butcher had been a senior litigator specialising in insolvency and fraud and recently assisted the family of Melissa Caddick when they stood to lose their home over the case involving their daughter.
She has also worked on high-profile corporate collapses including ABC Learning, Babcock and Brown and the Bernie Madoff ponzi scheme.
Michael Lynch opts for Colls

Kirstie Colls has been appointed by Michael Lynch Family Lawyers as its head of family law.
The Brisbane-based firm said Colls was an accredited family law specialist and a nationally accredited mediator. She had experience in all aspects of family and de facto law.
QIC gets a new associate director
Carlo Lucci has been started as an associate director at QIC.
He is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and has previously worked at Westpac, Remagen Capital and McGrathNicol.
Lesley bell has also started at QIC as a manager (capital solutions).
She has previously worked at Cromwell Property Group.
Anglicare picks new board member
Melanie Mayne-Wilson has been appointed a commissioner of Anglicare Southern Queensland.
Mayne Wilson was previously the chief marketing, communications and partnerships officer with Lifeflight and also worked in a marketing role with the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Dart starts at Griffith
Energy Queensland executive Michael Dart has started in a new position as board member at the Centre for Applied Energy Economics and Policy Research at Griffith University.
Speirs joins Urban Utilities
William Speirs will join Urban Utiliites as a futures strategist.
He has previously been a senior utilities strategist, a bid manager and corporate strategy lead for Unitywater.
Company secretary for Star
The Star Group has appointed Nawal Silfani as an additional company secretary, subject to regulatory approvals.
Star said Silfani was an experienced lawyer and corporate governance specialist. She had held executive roles at private and listed companies in Australia and had practised law at a top tier firm.
