A new ‘greener’ Brisbane workplace located in the heart of the $1.2 billion West Village precinct, is attracting a cohort of listed tenants to its visionary design.
‘Greenhouse’ by Sekisui House Australia is the city’s newest commercial building boasting beautiful rooftop gardens, outdoor workspaces and an overall focus on sustainability.
Designed by Blight Rayner, Greenhouse draws its inspiration from sub-tropical Queensland, delivering 6,500sqm of commercial office space, including a grand foyer with a Japanese-inspired water feature, a rooftop garden and function spaces, outdoor workspaces, and end of trip facilities.
Sekisui House Australia’s Queensland office will be among the first occupants relocating to Greenhouse upon its completion in October, along with Frasers Property Australia, who will take a cornerstone 1,050sqm tenancy for 10 years and Workspace365, who will take a 1,779sqm tenancy.
West Village Project Director, Harrison Phillips, said Greenhouse meets the growing demand for community-driven commercial office spaces that add to the overall life experience of employees.
“Greenhouse is a workplace modelled on wellness and offers many of the lifestyle amenities you would typically find in a leading hotel, from the incredible lobby to the 400 square metre rooftop terrace, and premium end of trip facilities,” Mr Phillips said.
“The rooftop terrace provides access to natural light, fresh air and features landscaped gardens, mature trees, barbecues and function facilities, and an outdoor area that can be utilised for workspaces, meetings, or wellness activations, such as morning yoga.”
Sekisui House Australia CEO Atsuhide Seguchi said the commercial building will enhance employee wellbeing and deeply connect people and place, incorporating West Village’s open green spaces, old-world character, a gym, and world-class retail and restaurant precincts.
“The building’s strong sustainability focus includes green power, solar panel, smart technology, and energy monitoring to target 6 Star Green Star and 5.5 Star NABERS ratings.”
Scott Ullman, General Manager Development Queensland at Frasers Property Australia, said the move to Greenhouse better reflected the value the company places on sustainability.
“Greenhouse is a workplace that places a strong emphasis on its connection to community and sustainability, which aligns very closely to our own values at Frasers Property Australia,” Mr Ullman said.
“The opportunity to relocate our team to a brand-new building with excellent connectivity to the Brisbane CBD, landscaped rooftop amenities, and access to the significant retail, lifestyle and wellness precincts of West Village was incredibly appealing.”
The West Village living heritage precinct is currently five years into its planned eight-year development. Built in 1928, West Village’s two heritage listed buildings – the Ice Cream Factory and Factory 2 – have been adapted to character commercial office spaces and are both fully leased.
Upon completion, the West Village master plan will deliver up to 1,000 residences, 8,000sqm of commercial space, a 14,000sqm retail precinct, and 10,000sqm of green space and heritage laneways.
