McTaggart with The Lott: Exec and board appointments
The Lott gets McTaggert on board, GWA gets a new director, airport executive jumps to Queensland Health, and more.
McTaggert picks up The Lott
Doug McTaggert has added The Lottery Corporation to his list of boards.
He was announced as a new director of the Brisbane-based spin out from Tabcorp along with John O’Sullivan and Megan Quinn.
McTaggert is also on the Suncorp board as well as the board of the ANU and the Economic Society of Australia. He was also a one-time chief executive of QIC and Queensland Under Treasurer.
Star appoints two directors
CS Energy and G8 director Toni Thornton has joined the board of embattled casino operator Star. Thornton’s executive career included roles with JB Were, NAB and Goldman Sachs.
As part of its renewal, it has also appointed Deborah Page to the board. Page sits on a number of boards including Pendal Group, Brickworks, Growthpoint Properties and Service Stream.
Page will join the board after February 1 whereas Thornton will join immediately upon receiving regulator approval.
It follows the appointments of Anne Ward and David Foster in Ausgust.

Inglis gets GWA board seat
GWA has appointed Bernadette Inglis as an independent, non-executive director.
The company said the appointment was part of its renewal process. She is the current chief executive of the Newcastle Permanent Building Society.
She also had experience in the arts, education, infrastructure and charities.
She will stand for election at this year’s AGM.
QHealth picks up Cole
After 15 years, Tania Cole has announced she was leaving Brisbane Airport Corporation for a job as project director at Queensland Health.
Cole had been working as an assistant project manager at BAC, but had also worked as a systems auditor and as a PA to the general manager.
She had worked in the legal sector before joining BAC.
Hydrogen job filled
The Department of Energy and Public Works has appointed Jo Cawthera-Ford as director of strategic engagement and coordination in its hydrogen division.
Previously she worked the Department of Communities where she was a manager of a strategic communications. She was also a manager of external communications.

Wood starts at Pembroke
Benjamin Wood has started as a principal mining engineer with Pembroke Resources.
He was previously a senior mining engineer with Stanwell Corp and Downer.
Pembroke owns the Olive Downs coal mine in central Queensland and last month began its recruitment drive.
Bond goes to QPAC
Sarah Bond has started as the senior campaign co-ordinator at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
She was previously the marketing co-ordinator and before that worked at Sunny Queen Australia.
Runge gets Superloop role
Paul Runge has been appointed a director in the broadband networks and smart communications business at Superloop.
It follows Superloop’s acquisition of Vostronet.
Runge had previously been the chief financial officer at Vostronet.
