Executive, board appointments: Lawyer joins Brisbane Olympics
The Brisbane Olympics has selected a general counsel, NRL star Phil Blake turns Red and more in this week’s executive and board appointments.
Lawyer for Olympics team
The Brisbane 2032 Olympics has brought in Paula Robinson as general counsel.
Robinson was a key adviser to the Queensland Government during the bidding process. She was previously a partner at MinterEllison and ran her own company, Ailier.
She is currently the chair of the Queensland Academy of Sport advisory board and chair of Tennis Australia’s national gender equality task force. Robinson is also vice president of Football Queensland and was previously a vice president of Tennis Queensland.
McDermott offers leadership
Former journalist and property industry leader Kathy McDermott has joined Creating Leaders as principal.
The Brisbane-based company that helps organisations with skills, culture and leadership.
McDermott was previously the chief operating officer for the Property Council and a property reporter for the Australian Financial Review.
Clifford goes from Aurelia
Aurelia has announced Dan Clifford has stood down as managing director and chief executive and Andrew Graham will stand in as interim CEO.

Clifford’s departure follows the recent appointment of Martin Cummings as chief financial officer and Aurelia said there had been a refreshment of leadership.
AMAG goes for Zorzo
Julian Zorzo has joined the board of Advanced Mobility Analytics Group as an independent director.
AMAG chair Robin Levison said Zorzo would add strength to the governance and compliance responsibilities of the board.
State loses director
State Gas announced that Ian Paton has retired as a director of the company.
Paton had been a director since the company listed on the ASX in 2017.
Ex-Manly star turns Red
Former rugby league star Phil Blake has signed on as a defence coach with the Queensland Reds.
Blake had previously been the head coach at Manly Marlins and Sydney University as well as defence coach as Leicester and Wasps Rugby in the UK.
QSport boss calls stumps
After 25 years as chief executive of QSport, Peter Cummiskey, has made the decision to stand down.
He came into the job after nine years as CEO of the West Australian and Queensland Australian Football Leagues and before that had been working for the Federal Government.

Tritium picks a VP
Karen Golding has been appointed as Tritium’s vice president of financial planning and analysis.
Golding, a QUT graduate, had previously worked for Google, Amplify and Endemol Shine Group.
Education picks up Forrester
Queensland’s Department of Education has appointed Kathleen Forrester as its deputy director general of policy, performance, international and inter-governmental.
Forrester comes from the NSW Department of Education where she was instrumental in negotiating with the Federal Government over improved funding.
AEIOU wins a manager
Renae Grinlaubs has been appointed as Wellbeing and Culture manager at AEIOU Foundation for children with autism.
She previously worked for Michael Hill as a senior human resources business partner and at Canstar where she was a people and culture specialist.
Bonza selection
Fledgling airline Bonza has hired Rebecca Palma as its marketing acquisition specialist.
The Sunshine Coast airline has yet to start its commercial operations.
Palma has previously worked for the Seven Network and Southern Cross Austereo.
