Looking for a show to take the little ones to? Bear with Me is a charming music theatre experience that will enthral little people and their families, featuring Brisbane ukulele duo Tyrone and Lesley.
Now in its 10th season, this popular show returns to Metro Arts this December, and is the perfect introduction for theatre to little people.
Bear with Me invites children to bring their teddy bears to the theatre to enjoy a show just for them! Sometimes it’s no picnic being a teddy bear, but being cherished makes the rougher moments bearable.
Part concert, part drama and part playtime (and un-bear-ably warm-hearted), this highly interactive show is playful, ukulele-ful and absolutely made for joining in.
Presenting elements of song, dance and comedy, it is the ideal introduction to theatre for little ones aged three to six years.
The show is an enduring collaboration between playwright/musician David Megarrity as Tyrone and virtuoso bassist Samuel Vincent.
Having played around the world, from the Sydney Opera House to the UK, the duo have released six albums and one EP, and dubbed Ukulele Record of the Year.. twice! (UkeMagazine, UkeHunt).
To celebrate the show’s return – Metro Arts will also be presenting ‘pyjama party events’ where little ones (and big ones too) are welcome to come dressed in their PJs and be lulled into a peaceful sleepy state, ready for bed.
Don’t miss this gentle and family-friendly participatory performance with songs and actions that deepen the bonds between young children and their teddy bear buddies. See you there. Be sure to bring your teddy bear!
Metro Arts presents Bear with Me at the New Benner Theatre, Metro Arts West End from 7 – 10 December. Tickets are $25 (Children under 1 are free).
