One man has died, and two people have been rescued after a boat sank off Queensland’s far north coast.

An air and sea rescue was launched after reports of a vessel taking on water near Batt Reef, about 30km east of Port Douglas, about 10pm on Sunday.
Rescuers found an upturned vessel two hour later and pulled a 24-year-old man and a 26-year-old man from the water.
The body of a 54-year-old Napranum man was also recovered.
Police are investigating the incident.
The tragedy follows the death of a man in his 60s killed when his small boat crashed into a bridge pylon at Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.
The crash happened about 12.25am on Sunday at the Brisbane Road bridge.
