Pop superstar Lady Gaga, on her The Mayhem Ball world tour, was due to perform at 7 pm at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium but did not take to the stage until 7.40 pm, as fans were stuck outside.

The issue meant attendees who had spent hundreds of dollars on tickets were unable to enter the venue and missed the start of the show.

One ticketholder posted on TikTok that it was “pandemonium” and the “worst experience” she and her friends had at a concert.

“There was no security guards who had any idea of what was going on. There were three-plus lines for every line so you were just lining up in useless lines,” said @Lilyapt.

“They kept on changing the lines and they finally they just opened it up so we got in to scan our tickets through, and we were like, ‘what’s the hold-up?

“They’d run out of f**king wristbands. It’s almost like… you know exactly how many people are coming!

“We missed two f**king songs. We cried.”

Some fans complained they missed six songs.

A spokesperson for Suncorp Stadium issued a statement to News Corp.

“Technical issues identified during the artist’s soundcheck resulted in gates opening at about 5.50 pm instead of the scheduled 5 pm,” said the spokesman.

“This delay resulted in a backlog of patrons queuing on the stadium’s external plazas.

“This backlog exacerbated the already delayed entry, resulting in patrons experiencing unusually long wait times.

“The show began at 7.40 pm, after (being) originally scheduled to start at 7 pm.”

The spokesperson said that by 7.52pm, more than 95 per cent of patrons were in the venue, with no queuing at the gates.

“The venue, as always, will perform an extensive debrief with all stakeholders in the coming days.”

Separately, a “known serial offender” who rushed at singer Ariana Grande at the premiere of Wicked: For Good in Singapore was booted from Suncorp Stadium ahead of Gaga’s show.

Johnson Wen was seen being escorted away by security officials in videos posted online.

Wen, who lives in Australia, is a serial pest and attention seeker who uses the handle Pyjama Man.

He has previously shared footage from other pranks, including jumping on the stage at a Katy Perry concert and running up to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli at the 2023 World Cup Final.

“In the interest of the artist’s safety, this individual was deemed a person of interest and not to be allowed to attend,” a stadium spokesperson said.

“Due to the excellent work by the venue’s diligent security team, an individual matching the description was identified and passed on to police before the show began.”
