Queensland Police said emergency services were called Coomera Westfield on Foxwell Road about 1.25am, following reports a 32-year-old woman had been stabbed multiple times.

They found the woman in a car with multiple stab wounds to her neck and face.

“She has been transported to Gold Coast University Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition,” they said.

The incident happened at a drop-off point at the Westfield entrance.

The ABC reports that police and Westfield security staff had taped off the entire entrance later on Wednesday morning. Plain clothes and uniform police were seen searching the area, while a white SUV was loaded onto the back of a tow truck about 8am and driven away soon after.

Queensland Police said a crime scene had been declared and investigations into the circumstances leading up to the incident, including those involved, continued.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with relevant vision to come forward.
