Former Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner (2019-2025), Janet Anderson PSM, has been appointed as Queensland’s Health Ombudsman, commencing her role on Thursday, January 15.
Anderson takes on the role of investigating complaints and identifying issues from outgoing Health Ombudsman Dr Lynne Coulson Barr OAM.
With more than 20 years experience in multiple senior executive, statutory and leadership roles, Anderson will now be responsible for conducting investigations, reporting on systemic problems, monitoring regulatory bodies and publishing reports on health service complaints.
Health and Ambulance Services Minister Tim Nicholls said Anderson would bring more than two decades of senior executive experience to the role.
“Her exceptional leadership in health administration has been instrumental in shaping key policy reforms that improve resource use and service delivery,” Nicholls said.
“Ms Anderson’s experience is a testament to her commitment in improving healthcare quality through strategic innovation and collaboration.”

On Thursday January 8, global biopharmaceutical company Vaxxas Pty Ltd announced the appointment of David Peacock to Chief Executive Officer.
Peacock will lead the commercialisation of the company’s proprietary high-density microarray patch (HD-MAP) vaccination technology.
Across more than 25 years of global vaccine and pharmaceutical leadership, Peacock demonstrated strong entrepreneurial success through start-ups, digital commercial innovation and funding access initiatives.
Peacock most recently served in roles as President of Merck Global Vaccines and President of MSD Asia Pacific.
His career spans senior commercial, operational and financial positions across Japan, United States, Europe and Asia, and he has served on boards and industry bodies including US-ASEAN Business Council, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.
Vaxxas Chair Sarah Meibusch said Peacock’s appointment aligned with the company’s near-term pathway to market and growth strategy.
“He brings unmatched global vaccine commercialisation experience at precisely the moment the HD-MAP technology is transitioning from proof-of-concept to a scalable delivery platform with the potential to materially improve how vaccines are manufactured, distributed and administered worldwide,” Meibusch.
Peacock will also be appointed as Executive Director to the Vaxxas Board.

Retail Food Group (RFG) announced the appointment of Mark Lindh as a Non-Executive Director of the company on Wednesday January 7.
An experienced public company director and corporate advisor, Mark Lindh is the founder and principal of investment house, AE Advisors, established in 2006.
Lindh acted a principal corporate and financial advisor to a number of Australian corporate success stories across technology, energy, resources, infrastructure and utilities industries.
Lindh is also a Chair and Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed companies Maggie Beer Holdings Limited, Aerometrex and Whitebark Energy Ltd. He also serves as Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed company, Bass Oil Ltd.
RFG Executive Chairman Peter George said Lindh would bring considerable expertise to the board.
“Mark brings extensive experience in connection with listed company governance and capital markets,” George said.
“His appointment further complements the breadth of capability and experience on the board that will serve the company well in the future.”
