Watch out for smoke as controlled burn is planned for the Mount Nebo area on Thursday.

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service is scheduling controlled burns across the state this bushfire season to reduce the risk and intensity of bushfires and to support a healthy environment
A planned burn for the Mount Nebo (Double Break) area of D’Aguilar National Park is scheduled to begin today and expected to last until Monday January 19.
QPWS warned that smoke may be seen in nearby areas of Mount Nebo, Mount Glorious and possibly in the Samford Valley, Banks Creek and Lake Manchester areas.
Smoke may impact Forestry Road and Light Line Road in Mount Nebo, the QPWS suggesting people avoid driving through if smoke is visible and to be aware of the presence of firefighters.
These planned burns aimed to mitigate the risk of bushfires and the potential impacts on communities, infrastructure, parks and forests.
The service said the burns were also vital in promoting ecological health, biodiversity and the conservation of species and habitats.
QPWS advises those visiting D’Aguilar National Park to observe all signs, barriers, and directions from QPWS Rangers and to never enter closed areas.
Controlled burns are highly dependent on the weather and generally require milder conditions and minimal wind.
These weather conditions can cause smoke to accumulate and linger until winds can assist in dispersing the smoke.
Those living in affected areas are urged to stay indoors, keep windows and doors closed and keep respiratory medication close by if affected by smoke.
Residents can keep an eye on current bushfire and smoke warnings on the Queensland Fire Department website.
