‘Wtf is that?’: Internet loses it over missing pet
A missing Queensland pet has won itself a litter of fans who have plenty to say about the dog’s unusual looks.
A lost dog post on a Queensland Facebook page has sent the internet into meltdown with some comparing the pet to a comedy-horror movie character.
A photo of the dog was shared to the Toowoomba Pets lost and found Facebook page after it was located in Rangeville without a collar on Sunday.
The post quickly exploded with more than 200 comments – with users quick to draw comparisons with the Mogwai from the 1984 movie Gremlins.
“Please don’t feed that thing after midnight,” one user wrote
“For the love go God, do not get it wet,” said another.
“I hope the gremlin finds its home,” another user posted.
Others drew their own comparisons; making references with yowies, gargoyles, ewoks and the grinch.
Some even voiced doubt it was a dog.
“Wtf is that?” one user asked.
“Almost human,” said another.

In an update later shared to the page, the dog – identified as Hazel, not Gizmo – was reunited with her relieved owner on Sunday morning.
But there were a few sweet comments, one saying it was the “most beautiful gargoyle I’ve ever seen” and another labelling the dog “cute”.
No further details were shared.
