Responding to Pauline Hanson surges to preferred PM in Qld
Unfortunately, despite the wonderful weather, I regret my move to central Queenslandd. I simply assumed new acquaintances were quite intelligent, yet now I read this approval of Hanson. On Saturday, I discovered that at least three of my friends will be supporting her. I can’t understand it.
Obviously, with voting for people such as Barnaby, Katter, and Pauline herself as a Senator, I realised many rural, especially northern, Queenslanders, are ignorant regarding economics, politics, international responses – but I thought Central Queensland was far enough south for voters to learn that Hanson’s Club may be okay to kick up a bit of a stir with the two valid parties, but to even consider her and Barnaby as a team fit for government is a huge joke.
Even here, where voters should know that Pauline very rarely attends to her Senate responsibilities. I realise her past jail term and all the international bloopers she has made may have missed younger voters, but my friends are certainly old enough to remember and never forget such a scary prospect for our state and our country. – Christine Morrissy
One must remember that Queensland also elected Joh Bjelke Petersen as Premier. And that Queensland was the centre of graft and corruption for many years. – Keith Sargeant
