The Calile Hotel will welcome the Australasian Dance Collective (ADC) and Gail Sorronda for the latest instalment of its Calile Culture series, taking place on Wednesday August 20.

Cut from Movement is a collaboration celebrating Australasian Dance Collective’s 40th anniversary season and the 20th anniversary of the launch of Gail Sorronda’s eponymous independent label. In an immersive performance showcasing hypnotising choreography and costuming, the event honours ADC’s enduring dedication to female-led innovation.

A performance of Melanie Lane’s Glass Teeth will open the evening, sending the audience on an exploration of surreal mythologies and absurd dreamscapes.

Following this, Talisa Sutton – art director of independent Australian fashion magazine RUSSH will lead a panel discussion joined by ADC CEO Amy Hollingsworth, Gail Sorronda, Melanie Lane and ADC artist Lilly King. Throughout the conversation, these bold creatives traverse the topics of collaboration, empowerment and artistic vision, and the roles they play in the building of a legacy.

Join The Calile Hotel in this night of artistic celebration in the grand reception and amphitheatre on Wednesday August 20. Tickets are available here.
