Flowers are easy. Organising breakfast is easier. But if you’re after something with a bit more unexpected this Mother’s Day, Brisbane Powerhouse is stacking the day with options. The riverside precinct is serving up mix of high-impact experiences and easy-going moments – from sky-high dining and knee-slapping comedy to thoughtful retail finds and a laid-back film under the stars.

Vertigo – for the thrill-seeking mum
If breakfast in bed isn’t quite her thing, Vertigo flips the script completely. Suspended 17 metres above the ground on the side of the Powerhouse’s iconic brick facade, this high-adrenaline dining experience pairs sweeping Brisbane views with delicious eats. For Mother’s Day, the Vertigo experience will feature mimosas for two and a curated brunch board complete with finger sandwiches, flaky quiches, croissants filled with brie, tomato and basil, buttermilk scones, salted-caramel brownies and spiced carrot cake with basil-cream-cheese frosting. And for mums who like their celebrations with a side of adrenaline, you can opt to abseil down the building at the end of the brunch. Bookings are now open for the Mother’s Day experience, or you can gift her voucher for down the track.
