The Comiskey Group – the developers behind the iconic Sandstone Point Hotel and Holiday Resort – has unveiled plans for a $250-million expansion that will elevate the waterfront destination into one of Queensland’s premier lifestyle hubs.

Central to the project is Moreton Bay’s first five-star hotel, delivered across two architecturally striking ten-storey towers. The hotel will feature 202 one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, complete with a modern coastal aesthetic and sweeping views of Pumicestone Passage and across to the Bribie Island Bridge.

The accommodation will be complemented by an array of resort-style amenities, including a showstopping infinity pool overlooking the water, an adults-only pool with a swim-up bar and live DJs, family-friendly pools, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, wellness centre, gym and contemporary function spaces for weddings, retreats and celebrations.

The masterplan also introduces a retail and entertainment precinct with new dining options, indoor activities such as bowling and a dedicated Tourism Information Centre – set to become a go-to destination for both locals and visitors.

To support Sandstone Point’s jam-packed calendar of concerts and festivals, the expansion will also deliver new event infrastructure, including expanded facilities, additional basement parking and a bus terminal to improve access and flow for large-scale crowds.

The Comiskey Group’s Sandstone Point expansion represents one of the largest tourism developments in the Moreton Bay region in recent years, adding new accommodation and event capacity to the already popular bayside destination.
