Operated by Anyday Group, Agnes is one of Brisbane’s most sought-after dining destinations, pairing a moody, den-like aesthetic with a fire-led culinary philosophy that has earned the restaurant national acclaim. Set within a beautifully restored heritage warehouse in Fortitude Valley, the venue centres around an open kitchen where charcoal pits and a woodfired oven shape every aspect of the menu. Recently refreshed by Anyday culinary director and co-owner Ben Williamson, Agnes’ current offering features 25 new dishes inspired by Spanish and Mediterranean flavours, while staying true to the restaurant’s ethos of letting quality produce and fire take centre stage. New additions include scorched Mallorquin toast with honeycomb, fennel seeds and guindillas, txistorra – Catalan-style chorizo roasted in farmhouse cider and lime, and coral trout pil pil with burnt lemon, alongside returning favourites such as smoked cured tomato toast and the cult-favourite sourdough crumpet topped with yellowfin tuna and creme fraiche. A similarly refreshed cocktail list showcases bright seasonal flavours with a lighter touch, while curated set menus offer guests a guided journey through Agnes’ distinctive approach to woodfired dining.
