Brisbane’s western suburbs have long known the name Chef Jon, thanks to Jon Ozcan’s popular mobile catering business, which gained a loyal following after the pandemic forced the closure of his long-running restaurant and sparked the launch of a gourmet food truck. Though catering proved successful, Jon was eager to return to his bricks-and-mortar origins, snagging the site previously home to Kenmore’s Pizzeria Violetta and turning it into Chef Jon Pizzeria & Bistro. Blending Neapolitan pizza traditions with Mediterranean flair inspired by Jon’s own Turkish heritage, the menu features hand-stretched, woodfired pizzas (made with three-day fermented dough and cooked in a Stefano Ferrara Forno woodfired oven), alongside Turkish-style mezze, Italian classics like lasagne and arancini, and desserts such as tiramisu and baklava cannoli. With wine from Italy, Australia and New Zealand, and cocktails on the way, the venue offers a modern yet rustic dining experience where Kenmore locals can now enjoy Chef Jon’s signature flavours any night of the week.
