The Venzin Group, the dynamo hospitality team responsible for Darvella Patisserie and Pawpaw Cafe, delivered another winner in 2022. Citron Bayside is a colourful coastal Mediterranean-inspired eatery located near the water on Main Road in Wellington Point. It marks a return of sorts for the group’s founder Giorgina Venzin, who spent her childhood years growing up in the Redlands. Citron’s culinary offering showcases an all-day selection of light and coastal dishes with a broad range of seafood, salads and vegetarian options. Stand-out dishes include caprese avocado toast, buttermilk pancakes with Canadian maple syrup, za’atar squid with lemon aioli, and braised beef short bib ragu with fettuccine. The eats are joined by a tight beverage list encompassing boozy spritzes and a 22-strong wine list. Specialty coffee and Darvella Patisserie’s house-made pastries are also available.
