Dark Blue

Since opening in 2022, Dark Red has become a beloved Brisbane wine bar and a cherished social hub, known far and wide for its rotating Italian wine list and role as a launchpad for memorable nights out. Now, Dark Red has a sibling. Owner Hannah Wagner cut the ribbon on Dark Blue in May 2025. Located in a custom-built space in the heritage-listed Shannon’s Building at the entrance to Winn Lane, Dark Blue blends industrial and romantic aesthetics with a cocktail-led focus. The intimate 30-seat bar features a Mediterranean-inspired drinks menu curated by Charlie Hunter (ex-Savile Row), highlighting unique small-batch spirits and inventive takes on classics. While Dark Blue’s wine list leans toward Portuguese, Argentinian, and Chilean varieties, it remains intentionally concise and hand-selected. The venue also introduces a small selection of deli-style snacks, including conservas and cheeses.
