Named after the small Swiss village where owner Giorgina Venzin’s father grew up, Darvella Patisserie brings a taste of European baking tradition to Bulimba’s Oxford Street. What began as a pop-up bakery during Brisbane’s pandemic lockdown has since evolved into one of the city’s favourite destinations for artisan pastries, breads and celebration cakes, with everything made in-house by a talented team of bakers and pastry chefs. Expect flaky, golden croissants, artisan sourdough, seasonal cakes, savoury pastries and the bakery’s signature baby cakes, all crafted using premium ingredients including flour from Wholegrain Milling Co. and New Zealand canary butter. The light-filled riverside bakery also offers handcrafted celebration cakes for birthdays, weddings and special occasions, alongside specialty coffee and a welcoming space to linger over something sweet.
