The Mulberry Group, the Melbourne hospitality crew behind lauded venues like Hazel, Dessous and Lilac Wine, has made its Queensland debut with High Road Bar & Grill, a South Brisbane restaurant putting local produce and woodfire cooking at the centre of its offering. Located at the base of Novotel Brisbane South Bank, the venue pairs Australian nostalgia with a menu of elevated comfort food, including chargrilled Chinchilla tiger prawns, Mooloolaba prawn rolls with umami mayo, a signature wagyu burger, Humpty Doo barramundi and woodfired chicken with labneh. A custom grill and oven lend smoky depth to seasonal ingredients sourced from local suppliers. The drinks list features produce-driven cocktails, including a Lemon Myrtle Gimlet and Smoked Tomato Martini, alongside Australian and European wines, with Granite Belt labels available by the glass. Moody interiors, dark timber, leather banquettes and cosy lounge areas make High Road a versatile spot for everything from a casual bite at the bar to a lingering dinner.
