La Bodega Fortitude Valley

What began as a modest neighbourhood taqueria has become one of Brisbane’s most reliable crowd-pullers, with Anna Brobjer and Tim Glasson of La Bodega opening a second location in Fortitude Valley. Housed inside the former Alfred E. Griffiths Service Station on Wickham Street, the new Fortitude Valley venue more than doubles the capacity of the East Brisbane original, offering around 120 seats, a larger bar and space for events, while retaining the laid-back, all-are-welcome ethos that made the original a hit. The menu remains consistent across both sites, with head chef Alejandra Mendoza continuing to refine La Bodega’s taco-led offering using more traditional techniques and flavours, alongside familiar favourites like beef birria tacos, empanadas and horchata ice cream, while an expanded bar program – including frozen margaritas and agave-forward cocktails – is set to evolve quickly.
