Landing Bakery, the newest venture from Jack Wakefield and Tom Cooney, brings a refined yet welcoming bakery experience to Scarborough’s coastal strip. Located at the base of The Oscar on Landsborough Avenue, the bakery was met with immediate enthusiasm from locals – affirming Jack’s long-held belief that the area was ready for a venue of this calibre. Designed in collaboration with architect Matthew James Reynolds and Five Mile Radius, the bakery’s interior draws inspiration from the peninsula’s red cliffs, featuring repurposed materials like pigmented sand and polycarbon to create a warm, textured space. Head baker Dan Smyth leads the kitchen with a tight, evolving menu of elevated classics – think croissants, citrus morning buns, gochujang scrolls and hearty savoury items like fennel sausage rolls – while a custom espresso blend by Vox Roasters complements the offering. With its thoughtful design, coastal charm and standout menu, Landing Bakery is fast becoming a must-visit destination for both locals and foodies passing through Moreton Bay.
