Perched atop the heritage Coal Board Building at 169 Mary Street, this late-night music lounge and cocktail bar from Anyday Hospitality brings dance-floor energy back to Brisbane City dining. Le Royale pairs jazz-inflected live bands performing tuxedo-clad, tongue-in-cheek covers with cocktail-style French-leaning bites inspired by downstairs sibling The French Exit – think prawn sandwiches, pigs-head cromesquis, steak tartare and the signature Le Royale with Cheese burger – served until 1:30 am on weekends. Behind a glowing marble bar, a seasonally shifting cocktail list (currently nodding to Pulp Fiction) delivers playful, precision-driven drinks alongside reserve wines, all within a moody, opulent interior by Tamsin Johnson.
