Since opening in February 2025, Salud has quietly become a beloved local spot in Auchenflower, gaining a loyal following with its warm hospitality and vibrant, Spanish-inspired menu. The venue has two personas – operating as a cafe by day, before opening on Friday and Saturday nights as a lively tapas and wine bar. Housed in a converted Queenslander that once served as a vet clinic, the space now boasts an open-plan layout with timber banquettes, a bar and kitchen pass, fostering easy interaction between staff and guests. Sunlight fills the venue by day, highlighting its earthy tones and original floors, while at night, it glows under hanging lamps and shelves of wine. The daytime menu features Latin-inspired twists on breakfast staples – think guac on toast with chimichurri, breakfast tacos, and huevos rancheros – alongside Campos coffee and Salud’s own horchata and yerba mate iced tea. In the evenings, the offering shifts to rotating tapas like croquetas, crispy prawns, and charcuterie, paired with a selection of new-wave Australian wines, house cocktails and local brews.
