Sōfu Gelato

Brisbane’s dessert scene received a silky Asian-inspired shake-up in 2026 with the arrival of Sōfu Gelato, an Edward Street store specialising in silken tofu gelato. Inspired by owner’s Sharon and Albert’s travels through Korea, Singapore and Malaysia, Sōfu serves seven core flavours drawing on Asian desserts and tea shops, including oolong, sweet corn, pandan, purple sweet potato and black sesame. The result is a creamy, delicate and notably less-sweet take on gelato, served in house-made black sesame or thyme cones, with affogatos, matcha lattes and the aptly named Sōfu’s Cloud Forecast drinks rounding out the menu.
