Anywhere Festival Moreton Bay

Anywhere Festival Moreton Bay is back and bigger than ever, serving up four massive weeks of show-stopping entertainment across the City of Moreton Bay. From May 8–25, everyday spaces will become extraordinary stages where anything can happen – bowls clubs, breweries and even libraries will flip into vibrant pop-up venues bursting with live performances.

With a jam-packed program of free and low-cost events, the festival is a homegrown celebration of the region’s incredible local talent. Throughout May, festival-goers can experience everything from inventive theatre, side-splitting comedy, immersive cabaret, live music, mind-bending contortion and high-energy dance performances.

This year, Anywhere Festival has a strong focus on family fun, so there’s plenty to suit kids and grown-ups alike. For families looking to dive into the action, don’t miss Jaws for Kids, a shark-tale reimagined with a playful twist, The Amazing Bubble Show where soap and magic collide, and Too Twisted – a high-energy whirlwind of dance and circus tricks.

Mystery lovers, put on your detective hats for pop-up show Murder at the Bowlo — an 80s-themed whodunnit where solving a murder could win you a prize (spoiler – it’s a meat tray). For some hilarity, take a heartfelt ride through Australia’s wonderfully weird world of farewell tunes at Confessions of a Funeral Singer and cross-examine your loved ones in improvised comedy courtroom This Is Your Trial.

In addition to the ticketed program, the festival is also rolling out three Saturdays of free entertainment at libraries and community centres across the city. Redcliffe Library will host free performances like fast-and-fun theatre performance Express Macbeth and musical puppet show All Together Now, while North Lakes Library will set the stage for a public sing-along with the Northside Soul Sisters. At the Strathpine Community Centre, theatre fans can enjoy the fast-paced Instant Romeo and Juliet and immersive marionette show The Squeaking Tribe.
