Forming part of QPAC’s Clancestry festival 2025 program, Art of Song brings together three powerful First Nations artists for one unmissable evening of music and storytelling on Friday August 8.

Jess Hitchcock, Megan Sarmardin and SOLCHLD lead this moving and intimate performance, each bringing their own story to the stage through original songs that speak to identity, culture and connection. Accompanied by acclaimed pianist Paul Grabowsky, the evening begins with solo sets before building to a stunning collaborative finale where their voices and stories come together in a shared expression of strength, connection and artistry.

From Jess Hitchcock’s genre-defying blend of pop, folk and opera, to Megan Sarmardin’s soulful storytelling shaped by her Mount Isa roots, and SOLCHLD’s expressive approach to song and ancestral reflection, each artist offers a unique narrative to captivate and inspire audiences. Art of Song is a celebration of First Nations artistry – and a night of music you’ll feel long after the final note.
