Brisbane Comedy Festival returns from April 24 to May 24, with a month of laughs set to take over Brisbane Powerhouse, The Tivoli, Fortitude Music Hall, Thomas Dixon Centre and The Princess Theatre. Now in its 17th year, the festival brings together a packed line-up spanning big-name stand-up shows, late-night chaos and a mix of unexpected formats like circus shows, cabaret and Shakespeare.
The popular Brisbane Comedy Festival Showcase lands at The Tivoli for a one-night-only hit of rapid-fire punchlines, while standout shows like Bogan Villea, Frocking Hilarious and Queerstories deliver everything from high-energy rock drag to powerful storytelling and all-female comedy. Aboriginal Comedy Allstars serves a powerhouse First Nations line-up of unfiltered laughs, while Grief, Love and Lead Balloons sees Elaine Crombie bring humour, music and storytelling together in a delightfully chaotic solo show.
Also in the line-up are comedy favourites like Melanie Bracewell, Josh Thomas, Pete Helliar, Reuben Kaye, Lizzy Hoo, Stephen K Amos, The Umbilical Brothers, Alex Ward and Ray O’Leary, alongside a host of emerging voices.
