Twelve elite dancers ignite the stage in The Chronicles – a gripping work of contemporary dance that brims with power, precision and emotional force.
Part of the 2025 Brisbane Festival program, The Chronicles premieres at the Thomas Dixon Centre in a bold new creation from Stephanie Lake, one of Australia’s most celebrated choreographers and artistic director of the multi-award-winning Stephanie Lake Company. Known for her explosive physicality and poetic edge, Stephanie Lake delivers a performance that delves into the arc of human existence – from the first breath to final moments – capturing the constant motion, transformation and impermanence of life.
Set to a live electro-acoustic score by acclaimed composer Robin Fox, the work fuses ethereal textures and haunting vocals from baritone Oliver Mann and renowned children’s choir Voices of Birralee.
From the first flicker of movement to the final breath, The Chronicles charts the cycle of life through a powerful display of contemporary dance. To witness the magic unfold, book your seats via the Brisbane Festival website.
