Brisbane Sake Festival returns in 2026, transforming the John Reid Pavilion at the Brisbane Showgrounds into a vibrant celebration of Japan’s national drink and its cultural heritage. From Friday 19 to Sunday 21 June, visitors are invited to explore the world of sake through tastings, food pairings and cultural experiences.
Sake is more than just a drink; it reflects Japan’s history, craftsmanship and regional character. This year’s festival places a strong focus on the people behind the craft, connecting Brisbane audiences with sake experts and brewers who keep these traditions alive.
Guests can enjoy a wide range of sake tastings alongside Japanese-inspired dishes prepared by local restaurants and producers. The food line-up is designed to complement the sake experience and showcase the diversity of Japanese cuisine.
Visitors can also browse Japanese ceramics, crafts and lifestyle goods, with many items available for purchase.
Educational seminars will be hosted by Melbourne-based sake educator and Sake Samurai Simone Maynard, offering an introduction to sake tasting, selection and food pairing.
