Brisbane Street Art Festival returns to paint the town from May 10–18, celebrating a milestone ten years of creativity, culture and community. The festival will see the city transformed into a sprawling outdoor gallery, with live mural painting, immersive exhibitions, large-scale installations and hands-on workshops taking over laneways, walls and unexpected spaces.
Northshore Brisbane will be the festival’s central hub, with the precinct’s warehouse arts space Superordinary hosting live demos, artist meet-ups and a packed program of interactive workshops, including Graffiti Lettering, Collage and Calligraphy, as well as an Aerosol Masterclasses and an artist-guided Colour by Numbers mural experience.
A major highlight is the Brisbane debut of Meeting of Styles, a global graffiti jam featuring 40 local and international artists creating bold new works across the precinct. On Saturday May 10, the festival will also host a 10th Anniversary Launch Party, featuring live music, performances and an exhibit of the inaugural Paste Up Festival – a global showcase of accessible, paper-based street art. Additional murals will appear across iconic sites including DFO Brisbane, Midtown Centre and Spring Hill, while all-ages Street Art Cycling Tours will roll out from Howard Smith Wharves and Fish Lane on both weekends.
