Get ready to feel the Christmas cheer as the annual City Hall Lights show brings a burst of festive magic to King George Square. Each night from December 5–24, Brisbane’s iconic City Hall will transform into a glowing canvas of colour, music and storytelling, enchanting visitors of all ages. This year’s production, A Christmas Blackout, written by Melissa Salisbury, follows brothers Ned and Ted as they rally their neighbours to help Santa find them in their new apartment. When a blackout strikes on Christmas Eve, the community bands together to light the way with laughter, song and a little Christmas spirit.
Running every 15 minutes from 7:30 pm to midnight, this free event is one of Brisbane’s most-loved festive traditions. Bring the whole family, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a night that captures the true magic of Christmas in the heart of The City.
