David Byrne returns to Australia and New Zealand in January 2026 with a bold new live show celebrating his upcoming album Who Is The Sky? out September 5 2025. Last seen in the region in 2018 for the acclaimed American Utopia tour Byrne’s latest production features 13 musicians singers and dancers including members of the original American Utopia band all fully mobile throughout the performance. Presented by Frontier Touring the show promises a visually striking and musically rich experience that blends movement rhythm and storytelling.
Who Is The Sky? marks Byrne’s first new album since American Utopia and continues his exploration of human connection optimism and shared experience. Produced by Kid Harpoon and arranged by New York chamber ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra the album features collaborations with artists including St Vincent Hayley Williams Tom Skinner and Mauro Refosco. Cinematic humorous and full of heart the new material sits on the edge of avant garde and accessible pop bringing Byrne’s singular creative vision back to the stage in thrilling form.
