Fish Lane Arts Precinct, in partnership with Outer Space, is proud to present a captivating new sound performance by multidisciplinary artist Dean Ansell.

Audiences are invited to experience a powerful expression of diasporic identity and ancestral resonance, unfolding live in the open-air setting of Fish Lane Town Square.

This 15-minute live activation extends from Ansell’s current exhibition The Riḡorabana, The Balawaia, hosted by Outer Space from April 25 to May 25. Two performances will be held – one between 2:00–2:15 pm and another between 2:45–3:00 pm. During these performances, the sonic and embodied elements of the exhibition will be thrust into the public realm, creating an electrifying spatial and sensory experience.

Harnessing his body as an instrument in dialogue with the urban environment, Ansell weaves his Melanesian (Riḡorabana, Balawaia, Papua Niugini), Maltese and Anglo-Celtic heritage through immersive landscapes rooted in soundscape, Melanesian mythologies and rituals, and poetic exploration.
