DEMO 2/4: Up Late at Judith Wright Arts Centre

Experience the pulse of Brisbane’s art scene after dark when DEMO 2/4 returns to Judith Wright Arts Centre on Friday August 29. Presented by Outer Space and the Institute of Modern Art (IMA), this late-night art series invites you into a dynamic world of live performance, installation and creative experimentation.

For one night only, artists will create, perform and test ideas in real time, as audiences wander, linger and step inside the process. With hands-on workshops, spontaneous activations and a fresh line-up of local talent, DEMO 2/4 offers a rare chance to experience work as it’s made – raw, immediate and buzzing with energy.

Part performance program, part artistic playground, the night doesn’t follow a set format. You might walk into a performance already in full swing, or find yourself swept into an unexpected exchange that alters the entire atmosphere. Across the evening, the program pulses, shifts and unfolds, rewarding those willing to wander, stay late and remain open to surprise.

Supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, DEMO is both a platform and a playground for Brisbane’s cultural scene – a bold initiative by co-presenters Outer Space and IMA to create after-hours spaces where artists can test and share works, and connect directly with audiences. With two instalments still to come, the series invites you to stay late and step into the creative unknown to experience contemporary art without the usual edges.
