Get set to be swept back to the swinging 60s as Dusty The Musical – In Concert makes its dazzling return! A co-production by Prospero Arts and QPAC, this unmissable concert experience pays tribute to the life, legacy and unforgettable voice of the one and only Dusty Springfield – the trailblazing pop-soul powerhouse who defined a generation.
Starring the sensational Amy Lehpamer, straight off a leading role as Anne Hathaway in & Juliet, this glittering production charts Dusty’s rise from introverted Londoner Mary O’Brien to an international icon. Timeless hits like ‘I Only Want To Be With You’, ‘Son of a Preacher Man’, ‘Wishin’ and Hopin’’ and ‘The Look of Love’, are all performed with a live band under the baton of musical director Brendan Murtagh, with musical supervision by the acclaimed David Young.
This reimagined concert version reunites the original creative team behind Melbourne’s acclaimed 2016 production of Dusty – director Jason Langley and choreographer Michael Ralph – who join forces once again with Amy Lehpamer to bring the story back to life for Brisbane audiences, nine years on. Expect towering beehives, sparkling sequins and all of the emotional power of Dusty Springfield’s iconic voice, delivered in a concert-style staging that puts the spotlight squarely on the music. It’s set to be a night of nostalgia, heartfelt storytelling and unforgettable melodies from one of pop’s most legendary stars.
