Easter is taking over Roma Street Parkland with a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party-themed celebration set to bring plenty of colour, creativity and hands-on fun to the long weekend.
From Friday April 3 to Monday April 6, the parkland will transform into a playful wonderland, with all-ages activities, pop-up performances and plenty of surprises tucked across the Celebration Lawn and Lakeside Lawn. Running from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm each day, families can wander through the experience at their own pace, jumping in and out of activities as they go.
Kids can follow the whimsical Mad Hatter’s Easter Activity Trail in search of hidden surprises, before stopping by the craft studio to decorate their own Easter bonnet. There’s also the chance to learn tricks like juggling and hula-hooping at The Cheshire Cat’s Circus Workshop, hit the dance floor at the disco party or catch a lively fairytale performance by Shake & Stir at the White Rabbit Performance Space.
Across the parkland, giant lawn games and a line-up of food trucks – including Gelato a Go-Go, El Corazon, Nudie Juice and The Donutters – will keep everyone fuelled and entertained. Sunday April 5 brings a special appearance from the Easter Bunny, who will be hopping in for meet-and-greets throughout the morning.
