Outer Space is proud to present the fourth exhibition of its 2025 program, Ghost in the Machine. Exhibiting from May 30 – June 28, the exhibition explores how fiction, anthropomorphism and avatars may reflect psychological realities.
The visual artists – Celacious666, Rainer Ciar, Fei Gao and Kalanjay Dhir – ponder the question, ‘what if I’m more real when I’m projecting?’ via alternate personas, fan work paraphernalia and puppetry. With a shared interest in avatars and embodiment born from fiction and digital cultures, they manifest alternate personas and characters to give over soul, body and form to physiological landscapes. Mediated through degrees of separation, these fantasies are part escapist and part confrontation with being human.
All are welcome to swing by for opening night on Friday May 30 at Outer Space.
