Museum of Brisbane is celebrating a ten-year milestone of its Artist in Residence program with a new exhibition and creative workshop series, In Residence: A Decade of Creative Practice.
After supporting more than 100 artists and over 50 original projects through its residency program, the exhibition looks to highlight an incredible decade of bold ideas, creative exchange and artistic innovation across the creative genres it has fostered.
For local Brisbane creatives, the program has been a source of inspiration, used as a launchpad for new works, with previous artists including Kim Ah Sam, Robert Brownhall, Delvene Cockatoo-Collins and Trent Dalton, alongside emerging artists Dylan Bolger and Jody Rallah.
Held in the Fairfax Gallery on Level 3, In Residence will feature works by artists such as Mia Boe, Gerwyn Davies and Elizabeth Willing, as well as artist interviews and archival digital content and publications produced from previous residencies.
The program will also feature a trio of creative workshops, including an intimate shared drawing experience with Mah&Wah’s Drawing Together, sketching architectural objects with Robert Brownhall and an artist-led morning of portraiture drawing with Tori-Jay Mordey.
Don’t miss out on experiencing a slice of Brisbane’s creative history by visiting Museum of Brisbane from Saturday October 17, 2026 to Sunday March 14, 2027.
