Into the Woods – Opera Queensland and Queensland Theatre Company

Opera Queensland, Queensland Theatre Company and Queensland Symphony Orchestra have collaborated to bring Tony Award-winning production Into the Woods to Brisbane’s Glasshouse Theatre this November.

Perfect for lovers of fairy tales, you’ll meet familiar characters like Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and Rapunzel in a musical that explores what happens after “happily ever after” and the fate that a fanciful happy ending may bring.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and directed by Opera Queensland’s CEO and Artistic Director, Patrick Nolan, Into the Woods warns the audience that not all wishes are granted without a cost, as magic and music spiral into a deeply human tale about desire, consequence and the stories we tell ourselves.

With a glowing cast including Amy Lehpamer (Baker’s Wife), Kanen Breen (Mysterious Man), Ali McGregor (Witch), Nina Korbe (Cinderella), Marcus Corowa (Rapunzel’s Prince), Tom Oliver (Jack) and Irena Lysiuk (Rapunzel), this production dazzles with its unforgettable score, cast of dearly loved characters and a plot that refuses to play by the rules.
