King St will come alive on Friday November 28 when the twilight Christmas Markets return for an evening of festive fun, local shopping and delicious street-side eats. Running from 4:00–8:00 pm, the popular Bowen Hills strip will transform into a lively laneway market packed with handmade gifts, artisan creations and Christmas cheer.
Curated by The Market Folk, the event will feature more than 20 stalls showcasing jewellery, ceramics, fashion, homewares and thoughtful stocking fillers made by local Brisbane creatives. It’s a relaxed, fun-filled way to shop small and get a head start on the gifting list – without the Black Friday bustle.
In a special community touch, students from Fortitude Valley State Secondary College will display and sell artwork created throughout the year, adding an uplifting splash of colour and creativity to the night.
King St’s retailers will also get in on the action with pop-up activations and racks-out sales spilling onto the street, making it even easier to browse, discover and snap up festive finds.
It’s the perfect excuse to dine your way along King St. Indulge in woodfired pizza from Il Verde, buttery pastries from Queen Amann, bites from Yum Char, burgers from Super Combo, fresh Vietnamese flavours from Xin Chao and more, with restaurants and retailers opening late and rolling out festive specials.
King St’s Twilight Christmas Markets will feature roving entertainers, giveaways for early birds and DJs spinning Christmas tunes across the night, making it a fun and wonderfully laid-back way to kick-start the festive season.
