Various locations across Moreton Bay
Moreton Bay is turning up the volume this June with the return of Make Music Month – a region-wide celebration transforming galleries, museums, libraries and public spaces into lively hubs of sound, creativity and community connection.
The action-packed free program invites locals of all ages to get involved, whether that means catching live performances, joining jam sessions, trying a songwriting workshop or getting hands-on with interactive musical installations. From rock, reggae and hip-hop to jazz, folk and classical, the line-up spans a huge mix of genres and experiences.
Expect community singing sessions, exhibition tours paired with live music, pop-up performances, industry talks and family-friendly shows blending storytelling, puppetry and music. There will also be a handful of immersive events scattered across the region, including People’s Instruments installations, Sunday Sessions spotlighting emerging artists and even a Bee Gees-themed kazoo flash mob.
Designed to support local artists while encouraging creativity across the community, Make Music Month is all about making music accessible, welcoming and woven into everyday spaces across Moreton Bay.
