Moreton Bay is turning up the volume this June as Make Music Month returns with a jam-packed celebration of live music, creativity and community. This vibrant, free festival will bring over 160 local musicians to the stage for more than 70 performances across 16 Council-run venues, from libraries and museums to galleries and public spaces.
Redcliffe Museum will host How Deep Is Your Love: A Tribute to the Bee Gees, featuring Amber Worthington, Bradley McCaw and the Kel Timmons Quintet. Over at Redcliffe Library, The Smashing Bumpkins will get feet stomping with a high-energy bush dance – no experience needed! Arana Hills Library welcomes contemporary jazz trio TRICHOTOMY for an evening of bold rhythms, Vixens of Fall will bring its chart-topping country-pop anthems to North Lakes Library, and Caboolture Regional Art Gallery will blend music and art with a live performance by Highs and Lows as guests wander through its current exhibition.
Keep your eyes peeled for a series of surprise pop-up performances across Moreton Bay as part of the Live Music Trail and get hands on with People’s Instruments – pop-up pianos, marimbas and vibraphones – that will be set up for public use. Micro festivals will also roll out at Redcliffe, North Lakes and Caboolture, each showcasing local bands, solo artists, workshops and community performances for all ages.
The best part? Every event is completely free! Explore the full program on the Make Music Month website and start planning your perfect playlist.
