Canadian-American composer and sound artist claire rousay brings her singular sonic world to Brisbane for the latest edition of Mono, the Institute of Modern Art’s long-running experimental music series. Blurring the boundaries between ambient, folk, hyperpop and noise, rousay transforms everyday moments into immersive, emotionally rich soundscapes, joined by Melbourne/Naarm trumpeter and electronic musician Peter Knight, whose exploratory compositions pair shimmering melodies with expansive textures. Curated by Lawrence English of Room40, Mono has championed adventurous, boundary-pushing performance in Brisbane/Meanjin since 2006, celebrating its twentieth year in 2026.
