Big feelings take centre stage at the Children’s Art Centre at QAGOMA, where Vipoo Srivilasa: Express Yourself invites young visitors to explore emotions through colour, movement and play.
Created by Melbourne-based, Thai-born artist Vipoo Srivilasa, the vibrant exhibition encourages children to think about how they feel in different moments – from the nerves of the first day of school to the joy of winning a tricky game. Through a series of hands-on making activities, digital interactives and sensory experiences, kids are invited to draw, dance, pause and even engage with different scents as they discover new ways to express themselves.
A highlight of the exhibition is the return of Vipoo’s Garden of Love activity, first introduced in 2021, alongside new interactive elements designed to spark curiosity and creativity.
Vipoo is known for creating joyful ceramic characters decorated with flowers, often called ‘flower bears’, and his work is guided by a belief that art should be positive, beautiful and accessible to everyone. That spirit shines throughout this playful exhibition, where imagination and emotion are encouraged.
Best of all, entry to the Children’s Art Centre is free, making it an easy and uplifting outing for curious young minds.
