Queensland Museum is giving adults a chance to rediscover their inner scientist with Science Night – Saving the Planet with the Bee Man. For one night only, SparkLab will transform into an after-dark playground of ideas, experiments and music, led by environmental educator and native bee advocate Clancy Lester.
Known to many as the Bee Man, Clancy is passionate about the small creatures that have an outsized impact on our planet. Through stories drawn from both city rooftops and wild bushland, Clancy reveals how native bees hold the key to healthy ecosystems and what simple actions we can all take to support urban biodiversity and climate resilience. His talk will also feature the spectacular Science on a Sphere globe – a massive-1.8 metre installation that brings global environmental systems to life in vivid motion.
Alongside Clancy’s insights, guests can enjoy exclusive adults-only access to SparkLab’s 40 interactive exhibits, try hands-on science experiments and soak up the atmosphere with live sets from AC Unit DJs. With drinks and light bites available at the pop-up bar, it’s a night where science, sustainability and fun collide.
