The Recovered Futures Art Exhibition returns to Brisbane this spring, transforming King George Square into a vibrant creative hub from October 3–8. Celebrating Queensland Mental Health Week, the exhibition invites the community to reflect, connect and celebrate the power of art as a catalyst for conversation and change.
Now in its 34th year, the exhibition – proudly presented by Richmond Fellowship Queensland – showcases more than 300 works across painting, drawing, sculpture and mixed media. Each piece has been created by one of 217 artists with lived experience of mental health challenges, offering an intimate and inspiring glimpse into their stories. More than an exhibition, Recovered Futures is a space to share vulnerability, celebrate resilience and remind visitors that no one journeys alone.
Adding to the atmosphere, artist in residence Natasha Zraikat will be creating an original work live across all six days, inviting audiences inside the grand marquee to witness her process and join in the dialogue. Beyond the gallery walls, the experience continues with hands-on activities such as badge-making and colouring-in, alongside a relaxed outdoor zone where visitors can unwind with coffee and snacks. All works are available for purchase, with 85 percent of proceeds directly supporting the artists.
For more information on the exhibition, including opening times, visit the Recovered Futures website.
